“Not much has changed admiral.” Ciena said. Chan can sense that she is still resigned to her fate as well as he can sense her loyalty to the Empire.
“I see you are still loyal to a government that thinks you are dead and could care less about you.” Chan noted. Ciena flinched but held her resolve.

Quinn focused her senses, stretching out as she tried to expand her Force awareness to the crowded urban sprawl that was Nar Shaddaa around her. She found Merek Zai immediately, he was still close by though she could feel him fading with distance.
Typical, she thought to herself. The rat was going to go save himself and damn Quinn and the poor girl.
Turning her attention away from Zai she began combing the surroundings for a sign or trace of the girl. She couldn't have gotten very far...at least Quinn hoped not. She wasn't used to this sort of labyrinthine environment and as she searched and searched for the girl's presence she began to fear that perhaps she was in way over her head. She clenched her teeth. No, she wasn't going to let the Imperials get to that girl. She'd seemed so alone and vulnerable, no one should have to be that afraid. Even Quinn had had someone there for her in Yana. This girl needed, deserved, that too.
She was starting to despair of making that happen when she

“We just have the position in front of the palace left sir.” Ghost reported. Chan shook his head.

“We need to hold this position or else the planet will fall.” Chan commented. Then another voice rang out.

“Sir, incoming transmission, It’s one of ours.” Chan then came face to face to two figures, one of them wearing clone trooper armor but lacking the helmet and had a cape on while the other had mandalorian armor. Both people Chan knew and he skipped the pleasantries and went right to it.

“Kahan, Aira-ty you need to haul ass and make your way to us now! We won’t last another day.” Chan said.

“We are trying to get to you. What happened to your fleet?” Aira-ty asked.

“I ordered the fleet to retreat due to the Sep fleet over Naboo. I believe the fleet rendezvous with you guys already.”

“They have. We will be there soon. You just need to hold them off.” Kahan said.

“Easier said than done. You need to get here faster.” Chan said, getting more agitated. Before Kahan could reply, the transmission went dead.

“We just lost communications sir.” A clone reported. Chan was starting to get a headache. This was just not his day until the palace shook a bit. A Naboo royal officer ran into the room.

“The Separatists have reached the palace. We can’t hold much longer.” Chan nodded and then put on his helmet.

“Well, I guess it’s time.” Chan said. Ghost nodded.

“Do you think Master Yoda is right? That someone from the past is here.”

“I don’t think he is wrong. Whatever it is, we need to hold out long enough for Master Yoda to initiate his trap.” Chan said. Then both men ran out of the command room and towards the entrance of the palace. As they ran to the entrance, Chan saw other clone troopers also making their way to the entrance. They made a turn and the entrance was right in front of them As both Chan and Ghost made their way to the entrance, Chan saw wounded and dead clone troopers in the hall. Chan gritted his teeth and was about to pull out his lightsaber when he saw three jump troopers jump into the fight and then suddenly an explosion happened at the entrance. This caused Chan and Ghost to stop in their tracks. The front collapsed, rubble creating a brief dust screen. Then Chan heard the metallic footsteps of the droids making their way to them.

“WE HAVE TO HOLD THEM HERE! REINFORCEMENTS ARE ON THEIR WAY! DO NOT LET THEM GAIN ANOTHER INCH!” Chan yelled. It was then he pulled out his lightsaber, the blue light igniting.

“Ghost, if we die here, it’s been an honor.” Chan said.

“Sir. It has been an honor.”

Chapter 2: In Service of the Emperor
“Feeling better today captain?” Chan said. Today he had gone alone to speak with Captain Ree. Quinn had business with her squadron and couldn’t join him today.

“I still won’t betray the Empire admiral. Even though I still respect you for all you did for the Empire in the beginning.” Chan leaned back and his head touched the wall.

“Yes, the early years of the Empire. It seemed so simple back then. Yet, even then I still felt it was all wrong but I was an admiral of the fleet back then. I still believed in orders.”

Coruscant, 6 months after the end of the Clone Wars

Admiral Chan was walking through the halls of the new Imperial Navy command on Coruscant. The war only ended six months ago but his fleet, the Mobius Fleet, was still being used to combat certain “traitors” in various systems. Now he wanted to really get to the bottom of that order he got at the end of the war. Following behind him was Ghost.

“Sir, are you sure this is a good idea?” Ghost asked Chan. He has trusted the admiral for years and considers the admiral a close friend but he is worried the admiral might finally be over his head on this.

“Ghost i need answers. We have been deployed to Ryoth, Sullust, and hell Anaxes again and our orders have been to instill fear into the inhabitants and we are now engaged in another fight on Ryloth. I was glad we were relieved before we got dragged into that.” Ghost nodded his head in agreement. Their latest assignment was the make sure Ryloth won’t rebel against the new Empire and that they had to submit to the Empire’s rule. Chan had protested this, stating that if he were to treat the civilians on this planet unfairly then it would result with rebellion but his orders stood. With a heavy heart, he carried out his orders but as he left and was relieved by another fleet, the ground force garrison was attacked by explosives at their headquarters and now their is a rebellion on the planet.

Chan heard about this and now he wanted to know what was going on. He and Ghost made their way through the building until they approached a blast door. As they approached, the blast doors opened and inside was an office that belonged to the commander of the Imperial fleet. Ghost and Chan approached the desk and stood at attention.

“Tarkin.” Chan said, with scorn in his voice. Newly-appointed Grand Moff Tarkin was an admiral in the Clone Wars similar to Chan but advocated for more aggressive approach to the war and eventually Tarkin would be put into command of the prison facilities as well as the Coruscant Clone Guard, or better known as Clone Shocktroopers. Tarkin seemed to be looking over something on a pad and looked up from it and stared at Chan.

“Admiral Chan, welcome back. I take it that you were able to carry out your duties on Ryloth.” Tarkin asked.

“Don’t give me that crap Tarkin. Because of your orders, we lost a company of soldiers on Ryloth due to bombings. What possessed you to even think that instilling fear into the hearts of those people would be in in our advantage?!” Chan asked, his voice raising due to his anger getting the best of him.

“We are in a changing galaxy now Chan,” Tarkin put the pad down on his desk and stood up. We walked to a nearby window, showing a view of the docks and continues, “The Republic was weak and filled with corruption and greed that lead to the Clone Wars. We need to show the galaxy that the Galactic Empire is not the old Republic but instead a new government that will not tolerate anymore old bickering or planet loyalty.” Chan was speechless. He swore to protect the Republic, which in turn turned into the Empire but he has always considered himself loyal to his parent’s home planet of Mandalore. He was raised with that warrior mindset and now to hear that he has to give that up was shocking. Tarkin continued on.

“As such, we need to show the galaxy through brute force and superior numbers. Did you notice anything different from the relief forces that relieved your fleet?” Chan thought about it for a bit then he remembered.

“The relief fleet consisted of those Victory class and Imperator class star destroyers. There weren’t any venators.” Tarkin nodded.

“The fleet shows what the future of the fleet. The venators will be replaced by Victory-class and Imperator class star destroyers. The Imperator is going to be renamed the Imperial class and they are the first in their class. We are already looking for ways to improve the design. I noticed that you have submitted some improvements on the design from your time seeing them in action near Anaxes.” Chan nodded. In the Clone Wars, he had commanded three of the Imperator class star destroyers and were not impressed with them. He had submitted suggestions to improving them,  such as a bigger hangar and more turbolasers with designs for a quad-type of turbolaser to increase the anti-starfighter capabilities as well as better ship-to-ship fighting.

“Those suggestions you made will be implemented into the new Imperial star destroyers and be sent to the fleet. Also your fleet is being reassigned.” This got Chan’s attention.

“Sir?” Tarkin walked back to his desk and sat back down.
“We believe that there are remaining jedi hiding in Hutt space. Their exact location is hard to come by due to them moving just before we make a move on them. As a result, you and your fleet will be deployed to Hutt space near Tatooine and inspect every civilian transport that comes in near that planet. This shouldn’t be too hard for you. After all, you use to be a jedi as well.” Chan then stiffened and his heartbeat began to increase. Not many people knew about his jedi past, mainly due to how he never wanted to talk about it.

“How did you-” Tarkin raised a hand.

“You have been loyal the the Republic and the Empire and have carried out every mission given to you to the best of your ability and effectively. As such, you being a jedi will a secret between the both of us. However, I suggest you stay clear of Lord Vader if you don’t want any ‘mistakes’ to happen.” Chan gulped. He had heard of the story of how he killed 50 jedi by himself. He didn’t want to be part of that list as well.

“Understood sir.” Tarkin nodded and gestured him to leave his office. Chan turned around and left the office with Ghost following behind.

“You think he will report you sir?” Ghost asked as they continued to walk away from Tarkin’s office.

“We just have to wait and see Ghost. Right now, we have a job to do.” Chan said. Ghost saw the admiral’s face being stoic and with emotion but inside, Chan was torn.

“So you took part in the Purges?” Ciena asked.

“Partially, I was mainly tasked to check every transport coming in and out of the Outer Rim to see if there were jedi on those ships and if so then I was told to kill them” Chan said, a hint of sadness in his voice. Even though he had no love for the jedi back then, he still respected the jedi, even though they were all for peace but fought in a war.

“Did you ever encounter any jedi during the Purge?” Ciena asked, curiosity eating at her. Chan was quiet for a minute then replied.

“There were two cases.”

Tatooine, 18 BBY

“Transport 1187, you are to stop all engines and prepare to be boarded.” A communication officer stated. Chan looked from the bridge and observed the small transport entering the Tatooine system. This was the fifth transport today and Chan was ready to just head back to his bunk and take a nap. However, with this transport, he sensed something. He hasn’t sensed something like this in a while and he wanted to see for himself. He saw that the transport began to slow down and then eventually stopped.

“Ghost, gather a squad and let’s get this over with. I want to be in and out so that I can get some sleep.” Chan said.

“Roger that sir.” Ghost replied. Chan sighed then put on his helmet and then both men began walking to the hangar.

“Admiral, we are now docked with the transport.” The pilot said.

“Thank you. Well time to get this show on the road.” Chan said. Ghost nodded and motioned the squad of clone troopers to follow. The group reached the exit and Chan pressed a few buttons. The door opened and Chan and squad of clones walked through the hatch and the transport door opened and they were met with the captain of the transport. The captain was a twi’lek, his lekkus twitching in rage.

“You have no right to board us. We are just-” Chan held up a hand.

“We have permission from the Hutts to use their space and as such we have every right to inspect your ship. If you have a problem, then we can take you to Jabba.” Chan stated. The twi'lek lekku twitched and Chan can tell he was sweating.

“Sorry for holding you up. Please take your time.” the captain said, backing away. Chan nodded and motioned his squad.

“Alright boys, you know the drill. Holo-ids on everyone and check their luggage too. Might as well check for smugglers too.” The squad acknowledged him and they made their way to the hold. When they arrived, Chan saw that they were expecting him since all the luggage were piled in one area while the passengers were one corner, the look of fear in their eyes. Chan sighed.

‘It wasn’t suppose to be like this.’ Chan thought but then he got right to work. He motions his squad to begin the search. Some began scanning the luggage for anything suspicious while other troopers began checking the IDs of the passengers. Chan was also checking IDs of passengers. He was currently checking the I.D of a twi’lek names Vict Tade.

“Alright you check out.” Chan said, giving the twi’lek his I.D card back to him. Chan was looking for the next person to check until he then suddenly felt a tremble in the force. Chan stopped right in his tracks and began to focus.

‘There is a jedi…. No, there are more than one jedi here.’ Chan thought as he began to focus. He hasn’t felt this kind of presence in awhile. Now, he felt the presence of two jedi and a weak presence. Chan followed his senses and made his way to where he is feeling the presence. He found himself making his way to a corner of the hold and came face to face with two individuals with one of them holding a bundle very close to themselves.

“Can I see identification please?” Chan asked, not knowing what he will be expecting. One of the figures held out a hand and made a motion with it.
“You don’t need to see our identification.” The figure said, a male voice. Chan then felt something hit him mentally and then and there he knew that he was dealing with a jedi. Chan’s hand then reached for his blaster pistol but then he heard a gurgle. Then the bundle in the other person’s arm began to move a bit. Chan’s eyes widened.

‘A baby? Then that means…’ Chan thought as his hand moved away from his blaster. He then noticed a ball near by. It was a small ball, something an infant would love to play with. Chan looked at the couple and began to think. He had orders to arrest or even kill any jedi he runs across but at the same time he was conflicted. He was once a jedi and even though he never agreed with their beliefs he still had friends in the jedi order, and then he fell in love with one of them.

‘Lannah, I wonder where you are now? I hope you are ok.’ Chan thought. Then he decided to do something unexpected. Chan looked around and made sure no one was paying attention to him. Then he lifted his hand towards the ball. The ball then to lift in the air and Chan guided the ball to the bundle. The couple recoil a bit but the bundle then reacted and reached out for the ball, pushing away the blanket covering it. It turned out to be a baby girl and she was giggling and happy. Chan then approached the couple and kneeled to look at the baby. The little girl looked at Chan and then became scared. Probably due to his helmet.

“It’s ok little one,” Chan then took off his helmet showing his face, “things are going to be ok.” The little girl just looked at him for a bit then focused on the ball.

“Can I know your names at least?” Chan asked.

“I surprised you didn’t recognized my voice.” The man said. Chan then remembered where he heard this voice and smiled.

“Good to see you are still alive Danik. I assume this is Amelia.” Chan asked. Danik nodded while Amelia nodded as well. They still didn’t reveal their faces, though but Andrew understood.

“I will pretend I didn’t see either of you two but you guys need to head farther into the Outer Rim. I don’t need to tell you how Vader is hunting every single jedi now.” Chan said.

“Why hasn’t vader went after you?” Danik asked.

“Ever since I left the order, I learned to suppress the force and keep my force powers hidden. That and I made a deal with the devil but that doesn’t mean I have to always follow orders. I am going to let you guys pass but get as far away as possible or find an isolated place and hide.” Chan warned. Both of them nodded.

“Also, I don’t know if you heard from her but do any of you know where Lannah is?” Chan asked, hoping for some news.Sadly, they both shook their heads.
‘I’m sorry Chan, we haven’t seen or heard from her.” Amelia replied.

“I see. Well, I wish you both good luck.” Chan said. He then stood up and began to walk away, not wanting to look back. He can’t give any hints that he knows them. He approached Ghost, who was talking to another clone.

“Are we done here Ghost?” Chan asked.

‘Yes, sir. Is everything ok? You were talking to that couple for awhile.” Chan smiled a bit before putting his helmet back on.

“Don’t worry about it Ghost. Just a family trying to escape the Hutts is all. Anyway, let’s go. I want to write the report before I fall asleep from exhaustion.” Ghost nodded and motioned for the rest of the clones to leave. As they all are leaving, Chan looked back to Danik and Amelia and nodded and then left the hold.

“I will never see them again. About a month later, I found out Danik sacrificed himself to protect Amelia and their daughter.” Chan said, leaning back to the wall.

“And you never reported them?” Ciena asked. Chan shook his head.

“I never told anyone. Not even my clone commander. It would be another five years before I find out Amelia died as well, and another fourteen years before I find out that the little baby I gave that ball too is a pilot in the rebellion.” Chan replied. He then heard some beeping and Chan turned to the door.

“I’ll be right back.” Chan told Ciena. He made his way to the door and opened it. Standing outside was a pair of New Republic guards and an individual that Chan would normally enjoy seeing but at this moment not so much. The individual was wearing mandalorian armor and it was a dark green color. There weren’t any designs on it, just the standard armor. The individual had their helmet tucked in their arm. The person was female, signified by her long dark blue hair, which is usually tied in a bun but not now. She had pointy ears and green eyes. She had a frown on her face and that usually means bad news.

“We got a problem.” The mandalorian said.

“What is it?” Chan asked, fearing for the worst. What she next confirmed what Chan had been trying to delay for awhile.

“Her trial has been moved up. It’s now tomorrow.”

It was quiet. Too quiet for the rebel pilot who was more use to the bustle and noise of a hangar. She was currently inside the former Imperial military prison on Coruscant. Now, it was being used as the New Republic’s prison now, with former guards and Imperial high-ranking officers are now housed. She was waiting for another officer to accompany her and interrogate an Imperial captain that was captured from the Battle of Jakku. The officer in question was the only officer that was captured during the battle and any intel that she had would prove vital for the New Republic. The Rebel pilot was leaning on a wall and was dozing off and she didn’t hear footsteps coming to her.

“Falling asleep already Shara?” A voice called out to her. Shara looked to her left and saw that the officer who she was waiting for has finally arrived. This officer was different from all the others from the New Republic. For starters, he was originally an admiral with the Empire. Though there have been Imperial admirals that defected before, this one had remained in the Empire to secretly help the Rebellion, saving millions of lives. He also was the only admiral in the Empire that refused to have any Imperial-class star destroyers, retaining the older Venator and only upgrading to a few Victory I and II class star destroyers. There was another thing that made this admiral more interesting.

“Well, I wouldn’t be dozing off if SOMEONE had arrived on time, Admiral Chan.” Shara replied, a smirk on her face. The admiral smirked back.

“Well, try to deal with a corp size full of clones and then we can talk Shara.” Chan commented. Admiral Chan was the only Imperial admiral that kept and received clones as replacements for his corp until he defected to the Republic.

“You will never find me commanding anything larger than a squadron admiral. And call me Quinn sir.” Quinn said.

“Alright Quinn. Now let’s go see our Imperial prisoner.” Both of them walked through the prison to go meet the prisoner. They walked by assorted New Republic soldiers with many of them stopping to salute them, though they were more directed to the admiral than to the young lieutenant. Chan knew this and as they finally approached the blast door leading into the prison section that their prisoner was in, Chan stopped and looked at Quinn.

“Sorry about that. It seems like I am a bit more known then I thought.” Chan said.

“It’s ok sir. I know your reputation and what you did so it’s ok with me. Besides, I really don’t like being a celebrity anyway.” Quinn replied. Chan smiled and then they both entered through the blast doors. Before they could head to the cell, they must check in at the guard station. There were four New Republic soldiers manning the station and when the leader, a sergeant, saw them he went up to the window to greet them.

“State your business.” The sergeant asked, his voice showing no emotion.
“We are here to interrogate an Imperial officer, Captain Ciena Ree.” Quinn said. The sergeant motioned to one of the other guards and he typed into his console. After a brief moment, the other guard nodded.

“Please leave your weapons and comms here.” Quinn unholstered her blaster and put it in a bin that was pulled out for them. She also removed her lightsaber and comms. Chan did the same with his sabers and blasters and comms. Once they were taken, the sergeant came out flanked by two other guards.

“Follow me.” The sergeant said. The two officers followed the guards to the prisoner’s cell. As they made their way to the cell, Quinn asked Chan about the prisoner.

“So, why are we interviewing this captain? I mean I looked at her records and she has a war crime list that would have her shot on site.” Quinn commented.

“I have also seen those reports and yes what she did and participated in are horrible, however she is also a very capable captain and a good pilot. She can have some interesting information on some Imperial officers we don’t have in custody as well as something else.’ Chan said. The group rounded a corner and finally arrived at the cell.

“Something else?” Quinn asked.

“She can help fill in the gap in our small officer corp for capital ships. Basically, I want to recruit her.” Before Quinn could respond, the sergeant pressed a few buttons and opened the cell doors. Chan went in first, followed by a surprised Quinn. Inside the cell, sat Captain Ciena Ree. She was still wearing her old officer uniform and from the looks of it, it seems like she hasn’t changed out of those clothes. Ciena looked up and eyed Quinn and Chan, her stare lingering on Chan.

“Captain Ree, I am Lieutenant Quinn Shara and this is Admiral Towan Chan. We are hear to ask you a few questions.” Quinn stated. Ciena didn’t reply to the Quinn, instead she asked the admiral.

“Did Thane go to you too?” There was a bit of sadness in her voice and Chan understood it to a degree since said Thane came to his office and pleaded for him to talk to Ciena. Chan sighed and looked at the guards.

“We would like some privacy please.” The sergeant nodded and went back outside and closed the door. Chan then took a seat on a bench on the other side of the room and looked Ciena in the eye.

“To start off, yes I was approached by a Lieutenant Kyrell but my visit here is only half of it.” Chan nodded to Quinn and she pulled out a pad and pressed a few keys.
“Captain, you have been charged with multiple crimes against the galaxy as well as the murders of multiple rebel soldiers at battles like Endor and Jakku.” Quinn stated. Ciena just lowered her head and answered back.

“We were at war with the Rebellion. So I had to kill Rebels, just like how you killed millions of people on the Death Star and on the Executor.” Ciena argued back. Quinn sighed and looked at the admiral, who have not taken his eye on Ciena.

“That may be true but the Rebellion also never targeted civilian targets unlike the Empire.” Chan stated.

“We were following orders.” Ciena replied. Chan sighed and rubbed his forehead. He can’t really blame her since they trained officers like her to obey every order given.

“Mr. Kryell warned me about this and I am not going to engage in something like this. I am here to actually offer you a job.” Chan said. Ciena perked up a bit before lowering her head again.

“I am not betraying the Empire admiral.” Chan sighed again.

“Before you go on in deciding already before even hearing the proposal, I am going to tell you something about my loyalties and the reasons why I left the Empire.” Both Ciena and Quinn looked at the admiral with curiosity. On both sides, there have been speculation on why a decorated admiral who fought with distinction in the Clone Wars would defect to the Rebellion and how he avoided capture from the Emperor and Vader. Not only that, it has been rumored that he was the only living admiral to refuse an order from Vader, something that would normally result in death. So, both Ciena and Quinn leaned in to hear what the admiral was going to say.

“To start this off, it goes back about twenty years ago. Around the time that the Clone Wars was concluding….”

Orbit of Anaxes, Abroad the Republic Star Destroyer ‘Spirit of the Republic’

The battle for Anaxes was finally concluding. The battle between the Republic and the CIS on the planet was concluding and it was just wrapping up. On the bridge of the star destroyer, Admiral Chan was looking over holo-maps, observing the mopping up operations. Normally, he would be on the ground with his legion, the 888th Legion, and would be fighting with them but since the captain of the star destroyer was killed in an attack on the star destroyer, Chan had no choice but to stay on the ship to maintain control of the skies. As Chan was observing a push being made by the Republic forces, he heard a beeping sound and noticed he was getting a transmission from the Chancellor.

“What does he want this time?” Chan said to himself as he pressed a few buttons and a hologram of the Chancellor appeared. However, Chan immediately noticed something was wrong. The Chancellor was covering himself in a dark robe instead of his normal attire. Also, when he spoke his voice sounded shrill and different.

“Admiral Chan,” Chan felt goosebumps from that voice and it was then that Chan felt something. It felt as if he was being overwhelmed with so much death that was happening in the force and it was when Palpatine continued is when Chan knew why.

“The fate of the Republic is in your hands. Execute Order 66.” Chan went pale and the pain was explained. For you see, Chan was once a jedi before the war but he left the order, believing that the jedi were too pacifist for him, however he was still connected to the force and now he concluded that he was feeling the death of hundreds of jedi.

“Y-yes sir.” Chan then turned off the transmission and just stood there, trying to control the pain he was feeling. It eventually became too much and he collapsed on his knees. The bridge crew noticed this and some went over to help him to his feet but he rejected it. He stood up and was thinking about what to do next until one of his comm officers called to him.

“Sir, it’s Captain Ghost. He says it is urgent.” Chan nodded.

“Put him up.” After a few moments, Ghost’s hologram appeared. Ghost wore scout trooper armor with a karma as well as a shoulder pauldron on his left shoulder. His armor also had green lines similar to a crescent moon over his visor and had green coloring on certain parts of his armor, mainly his shoulder, elbows, and knees.

“Sir, I assume you received the order as well.” Chan nodded but he can sense that Ghost was uneasy.

“Sir, with all due respect, I can not follow that order.”

“I agree. I don’t want to follow that order as well. I want you to bring her back to the ship now. We will sort it out when you get here.” Ghost nodded.

“Yes, Sir. I will-” Then Ghost turned to his left and then pulled out his blaster pistol.

“You! Stop, what are you-” Then Ghost fired his blaster at something and then the transmission went dead.

“Ghost! Ghost, do you copy?!” When Chan didn’t get an answer, he swore and turned to one of the navigation’s officer.

“Gator, you have the conn. I want a gunship prepared and a squad to meet me in the hangar now!” Chan yelled as he rushed out of the bridge.

‘Ghost, whatever is going on down there, I need you to buy me some time.’

Planet Anaxes

Captain Ghost fired from his blaster pistol at another clone trooper from the 301st Legion, killing the clone with a shot to the head. Along with him were his company, Shadow Company, and right now they were trying to protect their jedi general from being murdered by their own brothers. Said jedi was also helping him and his clones, cutting down three more clones from the 301st.

“Ma’am, we have to keep moving now!” Ghost yelled as he can hear more clones coming their way and from the sounds of it, they are not friendly.

“Lead the way Ghost.” The jedi said as she turned off her saber. They ran from the scene and into a nearby forest. Meanwhile the jedi was thinking in her head on this whole situation.

‘What is going on here?! Why did those clones attack us?’ The jedi thought to herself. This wasn’t part of the plan. Her and shadow company along with another jedi, Master Ghast and his company of clones from the 301st were suppose to attack a Separatist base that was one of the last strongholds and that would mean the end of the battle. However, one of the clones from the 301st received a message and then they turned and killed Master Ghast out of nowhere. They then aimed their blasters at her until Ghost intervened and tried to stop the clones but then a firefight ensued. It forced Shadow company to kill their own brothers and she can feel the pain from all of them through the force.

“Ghost?” The jedi called to Ghost. The captain didn’t stop so she ran ahead of him and the rest of his company and faced him.

“Ghost?” She said, a bit louder this time. All the clones stopped and looked at her.

“Yes general?” The jedi can sense that he was torn between protecting her and something else.

“Ghost, did you too get an order to kill me?” The jedi asked. Ghost looked away for abit as well as the rest of the clones did not want to look her in the eye.

“Ghost, answer my question!” The jedi yelled, wanting to know the answer. Ghost looked back at her and took off his helmet. The jedi looked into his eyes and the clone looked into hers.

“Ma’am, we received Order 66 ma’am from the Chancellor and in my best judgement as well as with the admiral that it must have been a mistake and if it isn’t, I wouldn’t commit the order. You saved my life multiple times, and I don’t find it right that I would have to kill the person that saved my life as well as the life of many clones in this company.” The jedi looked around and saw that many of the clones around her also have taken off their helmets and were looking at her in the eye. She saw and sensed the loyalty to her in them as well as she sensed pain from them. No doubt they were broken that they had to shoot their own brothers.

“Ghost, I-” Before she can finish, their was a beeping sound. Ghost noticed this and learned it was coming from his helmet. He put it back on and and after a few moments, nodded and answered.

“Understood, we will make it to the rendezvous.” Ghost then signaled his men and they put their helmets on.

“Ma’am, the admiral said there is a small landing a few klicks north. We only have 15 minutes to get there for extraction or else we will have to face separatist company that heard our little shootout and are coming this way.” The jedi nodded.

“Lead the way Ghost.” Ghost nodded and was about to take lead until the jedi held him back for a bit.

“And Ghost, call me Lannah.” Lannah said with a smile on her face. Ghost looked at her for a bit then chuckled.

“Roger that ma’am.”

“What is the ETA?” Chan asked the pilot of the transport.

“Sir, we are about five minutes out. It is getting a bit choppy sir, I don’t know if we can stay for long.” The pilot responded.

“Just get us there, Broadside.” Chan replied. He took this moment to think about how to extract them out of the situation that Lannah and Shadow company were in. Caught between the 301st and the remaining separatists, Chan was able to find a small opening in the forest and they need to get them out fast before they are caught in battle on both sides. Chan then turned and looked at the squad accompanying him.

“We will only have a couple of minutes to pick them up. We will do this quick and get out before we get shot at by both sides, be ready.” The clones acknowledged and prepared their weapons in case they would need to use them. The remaining ride was silent with the gunship rocking from the turbulence and Chan was asking the force to keep the clones and especially Lannah safe. Finally, the pilot’s voice rang out.

“Sir, I see them! Landing now!” On the left side of the gunship opened and Chan saw that Shadow company and Lannah was approaching them and that Lannah was helping one of the clones to the gunship. Behind them were about ten droids but they were not the average droids and Chan saw it.

“STANG! ASSAISSIN DROIDS! COVER THEM!” Chan yelled, jumping out of the gunship. Then he pulled from his hip two lightsabers. He ignited them and two blue sabers appeared, then he began deflecting blaster shots aimed at him. The squad that tagged along also leaped off and began firing at the droids covering Lannah and Shadow company. The droids continued shooting and dodging the fire coming from the clones. About five went down but they also took down four clones. Lannah and Shadow company made it to the gunship and began loading on. Chan saw this and order the squad that went with him, “Get on troopers! We are leaving!”

The clones began boarding onto the gunship and Chan turned and was about to do the same until he felt metal arms wrap around his neck. He turned his head to notice that one of the assassin droids had caught up and was trying to choke hi. However, the droid forgot he had lightsabers. He flipped the lightsaber in his left hand and ignited it, stabbing the droid in the abdomen. The droid let go and Chan turned around and force-pushed the droid. He then leaped on the gunship.

“Get us out of here, Broadside!” Chan yelled. The gunship hummed and it began to lift off. The gunship closed it’s doors and Chan took this time to look around the gunship. Shadow company, a company of what use to be 150 clones, now only consisted of 10 and it seemed like it might be reduced to 9 if they can’t get the wounded clones back to the medical droids on the cruiser in time.

“Someone want to tell me what happened?” Chan asked. No one answered for five minutes until Lannah did.

“We were ambushed by the Seps. We were about three klicks away until we were ambushed, so we made a rush here. We didn’t stand a chance.” Lannah then noticed that Chan wasn’t wearing his regular clone trooper armor but instead he was wearing his naval uniform.

“Kriff!” Chan then turned around, “Broadside, get us back to the cruiser.”

“Sir, we are getting a transmission from the commander of the 301st. They are asking if we killed the traitorous jedi yet?” Chan looked at Lannah. She looked at him and was scared about what he would do. Throughout this war, Lannah has fought side by side with Admiral Chan and the clones of the 888th Legion. She already knows the clones were not going to betray her but Lannah knows that Chan has always been loyal to the Republic to the point where he would do anything for the Republic. Now, with Order 66 being issued, she doesn’t know if he will kill her or not.

Chan just looked at her for a long minute and then told Broadside, “Tell him we killed the jedi. Tell him I am sorry about his men.” Lannah began to tear up and then hugged him.

“Towan, I-”

“Later, right now we have to get you to safety.”

“On that day, I was torn between my oath to the Republic and an oath to the person I was in love with. So, I chose her.” Chan said. Ciena was silent on that while Quinn was surprised. For Quinn, she always thought that the admiral was just like the other imperial officers, following orders without question and merciless. However, this revelation changed her view of the admiral.

“What did you do after?” Quinn asked, wanting to know more.

“I dropped her off at Nar Shadaa with an old contact I knew and that was the last time I saw her for a couple of years.” Chan replied. He then noticed that Ciena has not raised her head.

“I know you reported Thane as KIA so I know you made the same choice as I did.” Ciena didn’t reply at all. Chan sighed and stood up.

‘Well, I will come back tomorrow and continue this story when you feel like listening.” No reply. Chan sighed and walked out along with Quinn.

“Do you think she will ever defect?” Quinn asked as they both walked towards the exit.

“I believe so,” Chan looked at Quinn, “Because I got her thinking and that is the first step to get them to defect.”
Star Wars Fanfic
Hey everyone. So this is my first SW fanfic and this idea was inspired from seeing the artwork from other artists like SlingBlade87 , MidoriNoHonoo, and rayn44. Their work inspired me to begin writing this Star Wars fanfic so here it is. I hope you guys like it and let me know what you think.

Also Quinn Shara belongs to MidoriNoHonoo and you should check out his work. it's really good. And yes, I did get permission from him to use her and his OC Goldsaber Squadron, which will appear in future chapters.
